The idea for our collab with Upright (Portland, Oregon) we started with the legendary album ‘Donuts’ by Jay Dee. Using water, malt, hops and yeast we wanted to create a candy like, donutty beer. The malt bill was about getting bready, dough-like flavours, so we used some wheat, Munchener malt and Biscuit malt. In the kettle we added Candy syrup and Goldings hops and in the hopback there were more Goldings and Mosiac hops to get some candy-like flavours. Fermented with a Belgian yeast strain for some bubblegum and even more candy-like flavor.
