For our collaborative brew with Buxton we decided to brew a Scotch Ale, but as our first collaboration with Buxton use plenty of US hops so it is more like an IPA.

For our collaborative brew with Buxton we decided to brew a Scotch Ale, but as our first collaboration with Buxton use plenty of US hops so it is more like an IPA. The base is what we thought would be appropriate for a Scotch Ale: some toasted and caramelized malts including Special B with gives raisiny flavor. To Enhance the dried fruit flavor we added figs and raisins in the hopback and picked hop varieties known for their dark fruit flavors.Bramling Cross and Pacific Gem in the kettle, Cascade and Mosaic in the hop back and Simcoe and Cascade as dryhops.
