When we started chatting with Rick (founder of Oedipus and owner of Taverno), he told us that he sees his new place as a modern country pub. Simple, but good. Both in food and drinks. That is why we came up with the idea to do a Landbier, a simple German lager, in which the focus is on simple drinkability rather than on showcasing either one of the ingredients. This idea appealed to us even more than the country pub / landbier connection: as brewers we always focus on how the beer is made, but this time the beer also questions how we serve it. A Landbier needs to be served fresh from the tank and preferably in a steinkrüg for optimal drinking experience. A perfect collaboration with a beer bar!
